HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless review      

HP released a new line of Officejet inkjet printers at the beginning of March that feature laser quality prints. We got the single function HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless in for review earlier this month so we could test HP's claims.  Will the Pro 8000 live up to the hype?  Read on to find out!

BUILD AND DESIGN

The HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless configuration is a good looking printers the design is simple but sort of sleek.  It is a mix of black and gray with a few small logos. The overall size is average to large for a single function inkjet but HP does intend for this machine to be a laser replacement so in comparison to a laser printer it is relatively small. Dimensions given by HP are 19.5 x 18.86 x 7.09 inches; I found these to be accurate and included the removable duplexing piece on the back of the printer. The top of the Pro 8000 flips up to reveal the inside of the machine where first time users will need to install the two printheads.  They are color coded and easy to install.

There is a four button control panel consisting of a power button, cancel button, Wi-Fi button and print button. The 250 sheet paper tray is located below the small control panels.  The top flips open for loading paper and there are two adjustable paper clasps on both sides. The HP Officejet Pro 8000 uses pigment-based inks for a more professional business like print – at least according to HP.  Users will find the ink cartridges to the left of the paper tray.  Each slot is color coded for simple installation. All the connections are located on the back of the printer.  The Pro 8000 can be used with a direct connection (USB), a wired connection (Ethernet) or wireless connection.  There is also a two-sided printing accessory that is attached on the back of the printer.
