Setting up the Officejet 6500A Plus
The HP Officejet 6500A Plus comes with Start Guide which goes over the basics of installation: unpack, power on, set language/date/time, install ink cartridges, attach duplexer, load paper, choose a connection and install the drivers.

We chose the wireless connection since the Officejet 6500A Plus came with that option. There is a separate manual, a Getting Started Guide, which goes over setting up the 6500A Plus on a wireless network and setting up the fax features. You'll need to use the printer's control panel to start the Wireless Setup Wizard which will take users through finding and selecting the appropriate network, plugging the network key (if applicable) and confirming it's connected.

At this point, you can install the drivers and software found on the provided CD. HP allows users to custom install the software but right off the bat I noticed that the 6500A Plus was missing software found on both the previous generation Officejet models as well as the new Photosmart e-All-in-One models. The drivers and scan software were options, but missing was the traditional Solution Center and Photosmart Essentials photo software.
